PERSONAL BIO

I was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri.  I attended Texas A&M University where I received a degree in Business Administration and was a member of the men’s swimming and water polo teams.  My senior year I met my wife, Tammy, at an H-E-B Pantry picking out apples.  We married in 2004 and are blessed with three great children: Luke (twelve), Hana (nine) and Mia (seven).

We are active members at Faithbridge Church.  With joy we get to support other organizations like Love146, Bridging For Tomorrow, The Klein Educational Foundation and other people who are on a mission and doing great work!

PROFESSIONAL BIO

My first job in international commodities trading proved to require too much time sitting behind a computer, and I knew that long-term I needed to be in an industry that appealed to my creative nature, attention to detail, and love of great architecture. To that end, I hung up my suit and put on my work boots and joined a large custom homebuilder in Houston that specialized in the designing, building and decorating of new homes and renovations.

Over the next five years I studied relentlessly the art of construction, project management, customer service and residential design.  During my tenure, I rose to a Senior Project Manager, Quality Control Supervisor, constructed a GHBA Home of the Year, received a Prism Award for Home of the Year and awarded Project Manager of the Year.

In 2010, I decided to enhance my construction experience by joining forces with a well-established and respected builder servicing the River Oaks, West University and Memorial areas in Houston.  This opportunity provided me the privilege and tremendous experience of building and renovating some of the most prominent homes in the city, as I worked alongside award-winning architects and decorators.  At this elite level of constructing custom homes and renovations, I further refined my skills as I thoroughly studied every facet of the construction process, learned alternate building methods and techniques, worked with diverse architectural styles and sharpened my focus on key details that are often overlooked by other builders.

In January 2013, we fulfilled our dream of establishing our own company committed to building fine homes and renovations, Penberthy Custom Builders LLC.  We have been granted a great responsibility that is authorized to us to make a positive impact on all who come in contact with us.  We offer our clients a tremendous value without compromising integrity and are honored to be your builder.
